Roy was born in Fort Worth. He attended Technical High School of Fort Worth and served in the U.S. Air Force. He lived his life as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Tolar Baptist Church and was dedicated to his Lord and his country.

Roy will be greatly missed by his family and friends, which includes his Hood County law enforcement family.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy M. Addington; his mother, Oris M. Addington; and a brother, David Addington.

Survivors: Wife, Hilda Ashcraft of Lipan; sons, Jeffrey Stubbs and wife, Sue, of Watauga, Marshall Addington of Pflugerville and Phillip Addington and wife, Lana, of Keller; grandchildren, Kimberly Stubbs of Arkansas, Macy and Kaylee Addington of Keller, Melissa and Laura McFeeters and Wesley Holcomb of Watauga; brother, Bill Addington of Georgia; and sister, Frances Haynes of San Diego, Calif.
