I taught key punch classes for Tech Adult Education at night before I had my degree from TCU. At night you didn't have to have a degree.
During my senior year at TCU, I was on an emergency certificate. I was student teaching and also teaching part time at Tech High School. I taught full time at Tech for 9 1/2 years. The last 1/2 year was at Career Planning Academy over on Valentine Street. The had students with drug problems and many other problems. Our goal was to help them look at careers (main thing was to try to get them to come to school)
After 10 years with the public school system, I
took early retirement.
The next year I taught at Christian Temple.
I took some time off from teaching.
In April of 1982 I was hired at General Dynamics. I am
thankful to have had so many opportunities.
I must tell all of you about a miracle. In March of 2000 I was in three hospitals. I was taken by 911 to Baylor Hospital in South Lake. I was in critical condition and was taken by careflight to Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital. The cat scans showed aneurysms.
The doctors wanted me taken to Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas. At Zale Lipshy the cat scans showed aneurysms. After 3 1/2 hours of brain surgery, guess what. No aneurysms. Many people were praying for me. God healed me. There was a tiny bleed that caused the third nerve palsy to close my right eye. Two days after the first surgery a shunt was inserted on the left side of brain. Fluids were not going down spinal column as they should. I was in ICU for weeks.
Finally, I was sent to a rehab and was there until May. I will never forget May 4, 2000. My right eye had been closed. May 4 was the National Day of Prayer. While I watching the TV and watching and listening to people pray all over the country, my right eye opened. Praise God!!!!!
On July 5, 2000 I went back to work at Lockheed Martin (General Dynamcis).
God is so good.
