Jesse S. Velasquez Sr., 60, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at a Fort Worth hospital, surrounded by his children.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Rosary: 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel.

Jesse was born Oct. 8, 1943, in Dallas to Hilario and Caroline Velasquez. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. He worked in the graphic arts industry at various print shops in the area, most notably, Wilson Engraving in Dallas. He enjoyed working in his yard, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Velasquez.

Survivors: Sons, Jesse Velasquez Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Arlington, Richard A. Velasquez and wife, Jennifer, of Keller, James Eric Velasquez and fiancee, Stephanie Winn, of Fort Worth and Alex Velasquez of El Paso; daughter, Stephanie Williams and husband, Henry, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Eric, Dylan, Caroline, Caitlin, Arianna, Jacobi, Jeremy and Nikolas; brothers, Larry, Paul and Edward Velasquez; and sisters, Mary Espiricueta, Delores Cruz and Rosie Garza of Fort Worth.
